Living the Slow Way
The name Slow Live is inspired by the global slow movement—a cultural shift that began in Italy in the 1980s as a response to the rise of fast food and the accelerating pace of modern life. What started with slow food, thanks to Italian journalist Carlo Petrini, soon grew into a deeper way of life: one that values quality over speed, and presence over pressure.
Slow living is the art of consciously choosing to slow down. It means being fully present in what we do, prioritizing well-being, meaningful connections, and a more intentional, balanced lifestyle. It encourages us to live mindfully—not just eat slowly, but travel, work, and even decorate our homes with purpose and thoughtfulness.
This philosophy has since spread across the world, influencing everything from wellness and design to hospitality and travel. One of the most influential voices in this global conversation is Carl Honoré, whose book In Praise of Slow helped popularize the movement beyond Europe.
At Slow Live, we embrace this ethos fully. Whether sailing through the Greek islands, sharing a mindful meal, or simply enjoying the rhythm of the sea, we invite you to join us in reconnecting with what truly matters.
